Another successful concert!

Congratulations to all the staff and students towards our annual Christmas concert! It was a huge success!!! 

2nd Award Assembly of the Year!

Our 2nd Award Assembly will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 1:15p.m.

Christmas Concert Practices

Practice for speaking parts will be on every Day, 2, 5, and 6.  Christmas Concert will be December 14th, 2010.  If you are available to volunteer and help out with our concert please do not hestitate to contact the school at 623-7421.

Concert Auditions

Auditions for the Christmas Concert to be held on November 9, 2010 during lunch hour!

Award Assembly

The first award assembly will be on October 28, 2010 at 11:00a.m.  The grade ones will be supplying the entertainment! Come support our students!!

October Rocker of the Month

Looking for a student who can answer the following question and be entered for a prize draw: Who wrote the Monster Mash?

No fiddling class October 20 and 21

Due to SAG Conferences, there will be no fiddling class afterschool on Wednesday October 20 or Thursday October 21 as I will be away. 

Fiddling Classes

Grade 3/4/5 students interested in joining fiddling classes must return their forms by Thursday, September 30.  Forms are available from their classroom teacher and from Mr. Legeny.  Participants are chosen on first come, first serve basis.  Classes will be Wednesdays and Thursdays afterschool.   If any questions, contact the school for more information.

Congrats to all students for another fine year of music making! Congratulations to Brooklyn Miller and William Affleck who are the recipients of this year's Musician of the Year awards!

Musician of the Year Award

This June I will be awarding our Musician of the Year award.  This is the second year it has been done.  Our recipient last year was Lanze Chevillard.  This year one male and one female will be chosen to receive this award during the Year End Award Assembly on June 25, 2010.

CONGRATS!!!

Congratulations to the grade four students for an excellent performance at St. Paul's Personal Care Home! The residents were very pleased! Great to see everyone mingle afterwards, especially 104 year-old Annie Krivda who gave lots of great advice to the students she shook hands with! A great morning had by all!
Congrats to all of the choir members for their performance during our annual Family Picnic Day.  Lots of positive comments received!
We are nearing the end of another great year of music making folks!

Family Picnic, Grade 4 Field Trip, Year-End, Awards

All choir members will be singing at our annual Family Picnic on June 4, 2010.  On the morning of the same day, the Grade 4 classes will be performing their recorder songs at St. Paul's Personal Care Home!  The year is wrapping up very soon.  As such, there will be a choir party the week following our picnic.  In addition to all these events, choir members, recorder members, fiddlers, and drummers with perfect attendance will be honored at the end of May with special awards!  GREAT JOB ALL!

MUSIC MONDAY SUCCESS!

MUSIC MONDAY

Because it was a such a great success last year, Kelsey Community School will be celebrating Music Monday! Please join us at the school on Monday, May 3, 2010 to experience the great music making that happens at Kelsey! Concert will start at 11:00a.m. It will either be held outdoors or indoors, depending on the weather. We are hoping for an outdoor concert so let's hope for some warm sunshine to come our way!

Talent Show

Congratulations to everyone on making this year's Talent Show a SMASHING success! Thank you to all the performers and volunteers who worked extremely hard with putting together this amazing show! For those in the drumming and choir groups, you will be receiving your certificates at May award assembly.

TRAPPER'S FESTIVAL PERFORMANCE!

The Grade 3/4/5 choir will be performing at Opasquia School during the Trapper's Festival Stage Show! Performance time is 7:00p.m. but all choir members are expected to be there for 6:30p.m. Dress is trapper's wear, otherwise white shirt, black pants. Looking forward to this event!!!

Music Festival Around the Corner

Many Kelsey Community School students will be performing in the music festival. The following groups have been registered: Grade 1/2 choir, Grade 3/4/5 choir, Fiddling Classes A and B, Grade 5 Drumming Class, Grade 4 Classes, Grade 5 Classes as well as Grade 5 Recorder Club!

The date for choir is March 24, 2010 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral. Performances to begin shortly after 9 a.m.

Talent Show Update!

Information on our upcoming spring Talent Show will be going home on February 22, 2010. Also attached will be an entry form for all interested participants.

Fiddling Class "A" (Grade 3) Tuesdays 4:00p.m.-4:45p.m.
Fiddling Class "B" (Grades 3/4/5) Wednesdays 4:00p.m.-4:45p.m.
Grade 5 Drumming Class Thursdays 4:00p.m. - 4:45p.m.

There will be no Fiddling Class "A" on Staff Meeting Days. Next staff meeting scheduled for February 9, 2010.

New Year!

Hi there! Happy New Year everyone! Congratulations to all the staff, students and parents involved with making our Christmas concert a great success! This spring we will have be having a talent show as our spring concert, with auditions to start after Trappers Festival. Music festival registration has begun. Forms are due by the end of the month! As well, fiddling classes will be starting up again on January 19 and 20th. Drumming classes to begin very soon. I will be choosing students to participate in the drumming group!
